• Work together to identify synergies and avoid duplication of effort in respect of existing activities on tax matters.

Conferences

The ITD arranges periodic global and regional conferences to discuss key policy and administration issues. The conferences bring together experts and practitioners to identify and share good practice, facilitate dialogue between countries, and contribute to the development of future programs and activities.

Five global conferences have been held to date, each attended by senior officials from approximately 90+ countries. Conferences have focused on Tax and Intergovernmental Relations in 2013 (Morocco), Tax and Inequality in 2011 (India), Taxation of Financial Institutions in 2009 (China), SMEs in 2007 (Argentina) and VAT in 2005 (Italy). Six follow-up regional conferences have also been held since 2009.
